Day 16 07 07 2010 It Could Always Be Worse

Life is swell 07 07 2010

Lizzy woke up in a great mood. She did not go to sleep until 2am. But, she slept all the way to 10am.

Lizzy did not react to Matthew’s fits today. She seemed less noise sensitive than yesterday. She was biting others and herself when she did not get her way. For example, trying to put things in her mouth. She has been licking and chewing on things again. Quoting lines from her favorite shows was also part of her behavior. But, overall she was content and mostly cooperative.

Of course her day is not complete without going outside and playing in the water. She had a great time as usual and seemed very excited by it. Singing is also another way she passed the time.

My picture, now?!

She is still wanting to watch Christmas shows by Rankin Bass and The Grinch Who Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss.  Her appetite is good and as you can see her eye looks wonderful.

Happy Lizzy Gal 07 07 2010 7pm

We will be administering the Hepatitis B remedy tomorrow. I do not think it will cause any aggravation. But we’ll see.

As for the rest of us we did go the laundromat and what did I learn. SHAME ON ME for ever complaining about having to do laundry at home. Plus, as I reflect on our Lizzy Gal we are so blessed that she is not seriously ill. Todd and I are far too familiar with having a very ill child. For those of you who do not know our first daughter was born with  a diaphragmatic hernia.  Six months later she contracted meningitis. That was sheer misery for everyone. That girl is Amelia who is an enormous part of Elizabeth’s recovery. We could not do it without her. Thank you Amelia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xo

Amelia, Katie, Willy and Gabriel 05 2010

So when I start to design the invitations for my pity party, I stop, pray and reflect on what is going right and not wrong.

Through the grace of God we are all healthy, happy and able to care for each other with love and affection. It is just a matter of time before our Lizzy Gal will be expressing herself in a whole new way. I firmly believe it!

We earnestly look forward to the day when she will say I love you and all of other thoughts she’ll share from her precious mind.
